TASTING NOTES: Almost opaque in color, this wine is layered with fresh floral, herbal and dark red fruit notes. Aromas of violets and rosebuds are gently mixed with spices like cardamom, coriander, allspice. Concentrated dark red fruits such as cherries, cassis, and plums are complemented by the rich flavors of figs and dates. On the palate the fruit comingles with bitter chocolate and toffee. Complex and balanced. The super long finish is weighted by oak spices and vanilla notes that will become more integrated as the wine matures.

Robert Parker: Deep garnet-purple colored, it offers up notes of plum preserves, stewed black cherries, mulberries and damp soil with wafts of tar and tobacco. The medium to full-bodied palate has a rock-solid structure of firm, chewy tannins and bright acidity supporting the taut, muscular fruit, finishing long and savory. After a 4-5 years in bottle, this should blossom beautifully and drink for a further 15 years+.

James Suckling: This offers aromas of ripe dark fruit and wet leaves, as well as some licorice and spiced oak. Full bodied and chewy with a long, mineral finish and a touch of saltiness. Will soften in a couple of years. Try in 2023.
