TASTING NOTES: This 2023 blend is soft, elegant, refined
and absolutely delicious. A beautiful wine that leads with fresh red
fruit then seduces you with layers of currants, dried herbs, shaved
dark chocolate, baking spices, graphite, and worn leather. Incredibly
pleasant and silky on the palate with that flagship "liquid cashmere"
quality we all dream about. Showing great concentration and complexity that
will continue to evolve and benefit from a few years of cellar aging. Another beautiful
mountain gem from the estate at VIADER. Drink over the next 10+ years. Age
for at least 5 years to reach its peak drinking window.
53% Cabernet Sauvignon & 47% Cabernet Franc

The dazzling 2023 VIADER Red Wine is a compelling blend of mainly Cabernet Sauvignon with Cabernet Franc that needs an hour or two to fully unwind in the decanter right now. Once aroused it shows gorgeous black floral tones that combine with crushed wet rock, allspice dusted black fruits and Earl Grey tea notes that all take shape in the glass. Once on the mouth the unctuous, pillowy texture really entices. The palate is plush and inviting with loads of stony minerals, clay loam nuances and mouthwatering acidity to accompany the seamless texture. A dazzling wine that has just begun its evolution, try to resist this cellar-worthy beauty for at least another year. Drink 2027-2050. 98 points
The Wine Palate: Lisa Perrotti-Brown (96 pts)
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2023VIADER Proprietary Red Blend (53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% CabernetFranc) is fragrant, structured, and decidedly mountain in character. Cassis and red currant jelly are accented by kirsch, rose petal, pencil shavings, and wild sage. Full-bodied and firmly built, it's "brick house" in structure yet stays refreshing, with grainy, sculpted tannins and a lifted herbal tone. The finish is long and savory, with lingering floral and graphite notes.96 points

Blackberries, lead pencil, hints of cedar and walnuts follow through to a medium body with firm tannins and a caressing finish. Shows focus and finesse. Hard not to sip this now. Drink or hold. 94 points
