2022 VIADER Black Label 1.5L
|
TASTING NOTES: Exploding from the glass with
bold dark fruit notes, this sumptuous blend offers layers of ripe black fruits,
blueberry, dark cherry, plum, licorice, graphite and smoked tobacco with shaved
dark chocolate. These rich flavors coat the palate where a wave of delicious
oak spices, cinnamon, all spice and toasted marshmallow lead you to the lengthy
and mouthwatering finish. The hefty dose of Syrah in this blend every year adds
an attractive component of seductive dark fruit, plush integrated tannins, and
a persistent peppery finish with hints of earth and forest floor adding to its
complexity. Very approachable and well balanced when young. Drink now or hold
for up to 10+ years. TASTING NOTES: Exploding from the glass with

48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Syrah, 11% Malbec, 10% Cabernet
Franc
Owen Bargreen: 96 points
The 2022 'Estate Limited Edition' is mainly Cabernet
Sauvignon (48%) and Syrah (33%) with the reminder Malbec and Cabernet Franc.
This truly unique red blend really needs about 30 minutes in the decanter to be
fully aroused. This shows massive depth and really good structure despite the
obvious heat of the vintage. Pencil lead and iodine notes combine with
mocha, tar, and heady dark fruits. Elegant and refined, with firm tannins,
enjoy this beautiful wine now and over the next fifteen plus years. Drink 2025-2040
James Suckling: 95 points
A serious, complex but generous wine that shows great
balance, depth and concentration. Blackcurrants, dark chocolate, graphite and
espresso are accented by black licorice, cedar and wood smoke. Offers
power with elegance, as the full body and full tannins are so well saturated in
flavors. Drinkable now and best from 2030.
