A complex blend of 100% Cabernet Franc, only 4 barrels were produced. Each barrel was hand-picked by Delia and Alan Viader for their unique character, varietal expression and beauty. The Cabernet Franc grapes come from the VIADER hillside estate on the lower slopes of Howell Mountain. Multiple vineyard blocks are planted throughout the small (28 acre) property with elevations ranging from 480-ft to over 1200-ft above sea level. The steep slopes and western exposure make this property ideal and perfectly suited for Cabernet Franc. Each block contributes an essential piece to the puzzle and adds to the depth and complex nature of this wine.
Tasting notes: Seductive bouquet of fresh red roses, laced with dried lavender, sage brush and flavors of sweet Bing cherry, blackberry, and currant. On the palate you get layers of sweet vanilla and roasted coffee with a kiss from the French oak, adding to its smooth and incredibly balanced mouthfeel with nice round and supple tannins that lead to its long finish. In one word: Yum!
